At present time, the majority of cellular networks used by people in the world are based on 4G or LTE. Even though some people consider the speed and reliability of 4G / LTE to be good, but the name of technology development must be done. Now commercially available 5G-based cellular technology.
Wahyunanda Kusuma Pertiwi, KompasTekno - The 5G network is officially activated for the first time in the world. Verizon, a telecommunication and cellular operator company from the United States (US), announced that it had launched the fifth generation internet network.

"The world's first commercial 5G service is here," explained Ronan Dunne, President of Verizon Wireless. As a debut, the new 5G network penetrated four cities in the US. The four cities are: Los Angeles, Sacramento, Houston, Indianapolis. The choice of the city is not without reason. The first four cities that got 5G networks were chosen because they had dynamic policies and were also supported by the local government. "We are building cooperation with several leaders of world technology companies, standard bodies of international technicians, public officials, developers and customers to continue the 5G ecosystem, faster than imagined," added Dunne.

Meanwhile, users of the first 5G network in the world are Clayton Harris from Houston, USA. Verizon's 5G network will replace the cable for home internet service providers in general.
5G network data transfer will use "small cell", cellular towers that are smaller in size than current cable internet infrastructure. The 5G network speed is claimed to reach 300 Mbps depending on location. While the maximum speed is called reaching 1 Gbps without data limitations. 1 Gbps speed can be used to download 1 GB of data in just eight seconds, while a speed of 300 Mbps can be used to download 1 GB of data in 28 seconds.
For the first three months, Verizon customers can enjoy 5G Home network facilities for free. As reported by KompasTekno from Tech Radar on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, the monthly subscription fee for 5G Home wireless networks reaches 50 USD. Of course, devices that use 5G networks must also support 5G connectivity. While for Verizon's new customers, it will cost 70 USD. Verizon's 5G customers will also get Apple 4K TV or Chromecast Ultra as bonus.
Verizon's 5G network is built on the 5G TF standard, which is called the fastest alternative rather than having to wait for the formal 3GPP 5G NR standard that includes network equipment, devices, chipsets, and software. Furthermore, Verizon said if its partners provide 3GPP 5G NR standards, then customers will not be charged for upgrades.
